Farm Viability has long observed that our review panel’s response to a proposal is usually driven by the perceived level of importance of the production challenge, or the size of an opportunity. Our application requires applicants to share with us how they know their idea is important to growers.
On a regular basis NYFVI conducts surveys to better understand the needs of specific growers. In the summer of 2020 we reached out to New York’s commercial apple growers and conducted a quantitative survey. Highlights from that survey were presented as part of a January 15th webinar and are available below for download. If you would like to watch the presentation, it can be found near the end of this recording.
