Farmer Identified Needs and Opportunities.NYFVI is always seeking opportunities to learn from groups of farmers about the challenges they face and opportunities they see for their commodity group or regional area.  We use that information to connect research and education solutions to farmer relevant projects.  If you would like to convene a group discussion, please contact us.

Proposal Review. Farmer review panels are assembled based on the number of proposals submitted each year.  Reviewers must read and evaluate the full proposal, provide written comments, and participate in one-two in person meetings or telephone conference calls. To participate in a farmer review panel,  contact staff. 

Board of Directors. Directors are nominated by producer member organizations.  The term begins at the New York Farm Viability Institute's annual meeting in March. Board meetings are held monthly. The nominating organizations are:
New York Farm Bureau
New York State Horticultural Society
NYFVI Dairy Committee
NYS Vegetable Growers Association
Empire State Council of Agricultural Organizations
New York Corn and Soybean Growers Association
NYS Nursery & Landscape Association
