Representing All of New York's Farmers
Our board represents New York's diverse agricultural sectors, farm sizes, production practices and geographic regions. The board members are all volunteers and all farmers. Seven of our ten directors are nominated by agricultural organizations that represent large numbers of the state's farmers and agricultural sectors. Three additional positions serve as at large members.  Those individuals are identified by the board to help ensure a broad range of perspectives. Directors serve three-year terms that begin following the Institute's annual meeting in March, where the board also elects its officers.  No director may serve more than two consecutive terms.

More than 100 volunteers assist the board of directors by serving on subcommittes, grant proposal review panels, and barrier/opportunity identification panels.

Additionally, the organization receives input and guidance from non-voting advisors that represent Cornell University and the State University of New York agricultural colleges.
